Comprehensive Automotive Mobility Solutions (CAMS) Presentation Abstract:

The Comprehensive Automotive Mobility Solutions (CAMS) presentation contains a range of topics pertaining to adaptive automotive equipment for personal use. It will assist the allied health care practitioner and other stakeholders in understanding and advocating for individuals seeking automotive vehicle modification solutions, while also teaching consumers and caregivers about the unique process involved in evaluating and purchasing appropriate automotive options.  The presentation provides a high-level summary of available products and solutions from NMEDA’s QAP Dealer members for people with disabilities who want to drive or be transported safely.  In addition, this presentation is accredited by the AOTA, ADED, RESNA, CCMC and others for professional continuing education units.

CAMS Learning Objectives

At the end of this presentation participants will be able to:

  1. Understand and identify the unique process involved in researching, evaluating, selecting and purchasing automotive mobility solutions.
  2. Differentiate and list the key industry professionals and organizations involved with the automotive mobility equipment industry and list valuable resources to assist your patients in the available automotive transportation options.
  3. Understand and list the negative ramifications consumers/patients may face with poor awareness about this unique process in the automotive mobility arena.
  4. Identify and differentiate the pros and cons of various common automotive mobility solutions for accessible vehicles and adaptive equipment and learn how to establish a solid and positive working relationship with your local Mobility Equipment Dealer.
