Abstract:

Telerehabilitation specifies virtual service deliveries, which decreases the geographic constraints individuals with disabilities may experience by allowing them to remain in their environments to receive therapeutic services. Telerehabilitation may be used to improve services and follow-up care, which reduces travel or cognitive barriers to self-initiate programs. These applications benefit the client as an adjunct to therapy or as a “home exercise program” after receiving therapy services. The speakers and participants will demonstrate three different cognitive and motor telerehabilitation or virtual reality applications, for use with a standard computer or Microsoft® KinnectTM, with the pediatric, adult, or older adult client.
