Abstract: 

Leadership and mentorship skills are critical in the development and advancement of individuals, programs, and organizations. These skills are developed and cultivated though personal and professional experiences. Leadership skills are not innate to the individual, but are developed through knowledge accumulation and experience. Emotional Intelligence includes self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social skill. The combination of our emotional intelligence and our leadership style is critical to an individual’s professional development. This workshop will provide an overview of leadership styles, emotional intelligence and mentorship. The presenters will provide case examples based on their own professional development.
