Continuing Education

Introduction

Continuing Education is an instructional program that brings participants up to date in a particular set of skills or knowledge area.

Evidence of participation in continuing education is required by certain state regulations and professional license boards, and to maintain the RESNA certification as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP), Rehabilitation Engineering Technologist (RET) and Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS).  As an IACET Authorized Provider, RESNA offers CEUs for its programs that qualify under IACET guidelines.  A CEU is a unit of credit equal to ten hours of participation in an approved or accredited program designed for professionals with certificates or licenses to practice various professions or provide specific services.  An example of how CEUs are provided:

            1 CEU = 10 class contact hours

            0.1 CEU = 1 contact hour
