Figure 1 shows a computer simulation model of a Zippie and a Hybrid III 6-year-old ATD. The ATD is positioned in an upright seated posture in the Zippie wheelchair and restrained with a three-point occupant belt. Two ends of the lap belt are anchored to the sled platform, and the upper end of the shoulder belt is anchored to a rigid post, which is attached to the sled platform. The lower end of the shoulder belt is attached to the pelvic belt on the side opposite from the upper shoulder belt anchor point. The wheelchair is secured to the sled platform using a four-point, strap-type tiedown.
