Figure 1 shows a photograph of the current Wayfinder system prototype . The system is mounted to a vest and does not require the user to carry anything with their hands. It has a GPS unit on one shoulder and a compass on the other shoulder. The computation unit sits in front on the user's chest. A numeric keypad sits in front and allows the user to respond to system prompts. The system uses speech trhough an attached headphone.
