Investigators across stakeholder groups have been investigating new and alternative strategies for wheelchair coverage policies as part of a National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) funded Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP). This session will share updates to date across core interrelated projects and seek commentary from session participants. The first project will share the findings of a comprehensive scoping review of the literature, preliminary results of a stakeholder survey, and summary of discussions with policy experts. The second project will discuss progress on the development of standardized methods for wheelchair assessment. The third project will share preliminary analytics of datasets used to inform the development of new policy.
