The use of Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI) has been researched and clinically applied with adults, typically those who have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. BCI also offers children and youth who have severe physical impairments opportunities to participate in activities with novel independence. Following this workshop, participants will be able to identify potential clinical pediatric populations who could use commercially available BCI systems, and how BCI can be used to control computer games, physical toys, and environment control systems. Participants will learn strategies for children and their families to participate in selecting patient-oriented goals, informing clinical treatment, and determining BCI modifications.
