During this interactive, hands-on course, learn to create simple software shortcuts (“macros”) for automating repetitive tasks in Windows applications. We will use Macro Express Pro, an inexpensive and easy-to-learn scripting tool.
Macros boost productivity and accuracy while reducing the physical and cognitive effort of operating a computer. Macros benefit everybody, but can be crucial to success for students and employees with physical, sensory, motor, learning, cognitive, and psychological disabilities. Topics:
- Introduction to keyboard access to Windows (a prerequisite skill for macro developers).
- Introduction to Macro Express Pro.
- Create a Macro Express script to simplify a task that you perform.
- Create Macro Express scripts based on a case study.
This session is geared for assistive technology professionals. NO experience with macros, scripting, or programming is required — you don’t even need to know what a macro is to benefit from this session.
