Disability stigma is one of the most complex barriers and widespread barriers preventing people with disabilities in East Africa from accessing equal rights and opportunities. However, understanding how stigma develops and measuring its effect on the use and uptake of assistive technologies requires a multi-faceted approach that involves different methods and stakeholder groups. In this workshop, organizers will draw on the experience of various studies carried out in East African countries to identify effective research strategies to understand stigma and evaluate its impact on assistive technology use and the life of people with disabilities more broadly
