Session Description
Session Type:
Some individuals with intellectual disabilities have challenges with social/behavioral functioning, which can lead to disruptive behaviors that interfere with social, educational and vocational settings. This session will present several case studies involving adults with a dual diagnosis (intellectual disability and behavioral health) used an app based on the Skills System, (developed by Dr. Julie Brown). This app has been shown to help these individuals: 1) better self-monitor their behavior, 2) improve their emotional regulation, and 3) in the context of therapy – help them practice skills between therapy sessions. This session includes demonstrations with a variety of content for different scenarios.
