RESNA is a standards developing organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
This workshop will highlight TechSAge RERC and AGE-WELL NCE research and development focused on assistive and mobile technologies to facilitate aging in the community. With an emphasis on evidence-based design, participants will discuss ongoing work aimed at understanding user needs, evaluating effectiveness of current technologies and development of the next generation of assistive and mobile technologies to assist seniors with disabilities maintain mobility and health. Specific topics include problems experienced with getting around the outdoor environment, limitations in current mobility aids, assistive devices to aid mobility and new software applications aimed at enhancing participation through increased mobility and health management.
