Bahr is a Program Manager at Iowa's University Center for Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). At the UCEDD Bahr is involved with developing instruction for professionals, students, and fellows as well as coordination of assistive technology for use in educational, work, and home environments.

Currently, Bahr is principle instructor for Universal Design and Accessibility for Online Learning, First Year Seminar on Neuro Diversity, and Designing and Apply Accessible Digital Materials.

Before coming to the UCEDD, Bahr was the director of the Iowa Center for Assistive Technology Education and Research. At ICATER, she provided assistive technology (AT) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training for pre-service and in-service teachers so that students with disabilities are engaged in the general education classroom.  Bahr also provided AT consultations for individuals of all ages with disabilities. Before coming to ICATER, Bahr worked at a Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St.

Paul for 24 years as a rehabilitation engineer and supervisor of Mobile Outreach Clinic.

Bahr's degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Biomechanics are from the University of Iowa.

She served as treasurer,  and is currently on the board of directors and chair of the education committee of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).

Bahr presents at the university, throughout the state and the nation. She also recently presented in Canberra, Australia.
