Summary:

Clients with complex presentations typically require a very comprehensive and multi-disciplinary assessment. Physical, cognitive, and sensory impairments may be present. These clients often use multiple assistive technologies and the evaluating team must assess these needs simultaneously to achieve a successful outcome. This course will present assessment of the complex client for postural support, including the wheelchair seating system, using case studies and participant workgroups. To achieve independent mobility, the client requires not only adequate postural support, but often a power wheelchair with alternative driving methods and other features. The course will present power mobility assessment, including a hands-on time.
