The Accreditation Ad Hoc Committee, formed last year by the RESNA Board of Directors, is continuing to complete activities for accreditation of rehabilitation engineering/assistive technology certificate and degree programs in higher education. The accreditation standards are currently being reviewed by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The committee expects a favorable review of the standards and should hear by late November regarding the acceptance and approval of the standards. Applicant programs are expected to be solicited in the Spring 2016.
Update on the Accreditation Ad Hoc Committee
Wednesday, November 11, 2015 - 11:00am
A website will be available by the end of 2015 to inform interested applicants about the accreditation process. Of particular interest to potential applicants will be a self-study document to help prepare program directors for a site visit. There will be a fee for interested programs which includes both the initial application fee and a site visit fee to support the travel costs of 2-3 reviewers. Please contact Mary Goldberg at email@example.com with additional questions.
