- You must apply to take the exam. Send a completed application form and $500 fee to RESNA.
- RESNA will review your application and if approved, you will receive an e-mail notification with an ID number and instructions for scheduling your computer-based exam. You can schedule your exam at a Prometric testing center near you – there are hundreds across the country and internationally. The exam is offered throughout the year. If your application is not approved or is missing documentation, you will be notified via e-mail or phone.
- Take the exam. Preliminary exam results are provided right away, at the end of the exam.
The ATP Certification is granted for two years, after which it must be renewed by providing documentation of work experience and continuing education.
