Dear RESNA Community,
As I look to the future of RESNA, I am excited by the opportunities ahead for our organization and the impact we can have on the lives of people who rely on assistive technology. Building on our strong foundation, one of my priorities is to further strengthen RESNA's advocacy engagement. Advocacy has long been a strong collaborator with AT stakeholders in efforts to protect and expand access to assistive technology and rehabilitation services. I believe there are opportunities where RESNA can play specific roles in protecting access to technologies that meet the unique needs and preferences of patients. We are fortunate to have members with extraordinary expertise, experience, and passion. By engaging and empowering our members, we can amplify our collective voice, educate policymakers, influence decision-making, and drive meaningful progress for the people and communities we serve.
The challenges facing individuals with disabilities, as well as the aging population, and the professionals who support them continue to evolve, as do the opportunities to increase access, independence, and full participation in everyday life.
RESNA is uniquely positioned to assist in these efforts because of the expertise and dedication of our members. Depending on the particular issue, RESNA can help strengthen advocacy efforts through our research, educational programs commitment to professional standards, and our unwavering focus on ethical practice. Together, we can build on our current stakeholder efforts and partnerships to advance our mission and achieve a lasting impact for the future.
Warm regards,
Rita Stanley
RESNA President
