Become an ATP/SMS

The ATP and SMS are the premiere certifications for professionals, researchers, educators, suppliers, and manufactures in the rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology arena.

Prepare yourself for a rigorous process that both tests and confirms your knowledge and experience.

Determine your eligibility
Once you have the ATP, you can apply for the SMS. To become a certified SMS, you should do the following...

Please note, RESNA membership means a discount to apply ($100) and to take the ATP Fundamentals Course ($150).

Once you believe you're prepared, you can contact certification@resna.org to indicate that you're ready to take the exam. From this notification, you have 90 days to schedule your exam at any Prometric testing center
