To improve access to wheelchair services globally, the World Health Organization (WHO), in partnership with the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO), the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), are developing global WHO Standards for Wheelchair Service Provision. The Standards will provide guidance to Member States in setting up, improving or transforming their health and social systems for delivering wheelchair services. The Standards are being developed according to WHO’s development process by global experts with vast geographical representation, gender balance and diversity.
