Applying for the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification

Congratulations on taking the first step to validating your knowledge and professional experience by achieving the globally recognized designation of the ATP.

First, please review the eligibility guidelines.

If you feel that you have met the application requirements, please click here to pay the application fee ($100 for Nonmembers and FREE for RESNA Members) and gain access to the ATP application.

Upon application submission, RESNA Certification staff will initiate the applicant review process. If any additional information or documentation is needed, you will be contacted via email and phone with instructions on how to proceed. Please allow up to 3 weeks for the approval process.

If RESNA determines that you have satisfied the ATP eligibility requirements, then you will receive an approval notice via email with an invitation to proceed on to completing your exam fee payment. If you do not receive your Authorization-to-Test (ATT) within 3 weeks of submitting your application materials, then please contact RESNA.

Once a candidate’s application has been approved, they will need to complete payment of the $500 Exam fee. After the exam fee payment has been received, the candidate will receive an ATT notice via email. The ATT will provide candidates with instructions for contacting Prometric to schedule their exam appointment at one of Prometric's computer-based testing centers. Exam-takers will first choose a testing center, and then you'll select an available appointment date within your chosen exam period window.
