Abstract
In the team approach to the provision of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) RESNA certification of the supplier as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) is mandatory for many third-party payors. This includes the requirement to follow a Standard of Practice (SOP) and Code of Ethics (COE). While the roles and responsibilities of each team member may differ the mandate to “do no harm” is paramount in the discharge of your professional obligation. This course will examine the roles and responsibilities of the team, review the RESNA SOP and COE documents, illustrate what may be considered a violation and provide participants with tools to protect the integrity of the certification process, resulting credentials and the individuals with disabilities we serve.
Learning Outcomes
- Participants will be able to identify 3 goals of Certification
- Participants will be able to list the process used to adjudicate a complaint
- Participants will be able to identify how a minimum of 1 Standards of Practice may be violated
